"What is so special about a contemporary art museum is the opportunity it offers to develop exhibitions in real-time with artists—through conversation and collaboration. This exhibition of Janet Biggs’ and peter campus’ work evolved through the sharing of knowledge and ideas between the artists, guest curator Terrie Sultan, and our Exhibitions team over the course of a year. An important element of our institution’s mission is to be a place of experimentation that inspires new ideas—for artists and visitors alike. After an initial visit to the Museum, the artists and curator were inspired by the possibilities of a dynamic conversation exploring the intersection of science and spirituality. What started as a small focus exhibition developed into a harmonious journey through moments in each artist’s career. This show presents the breadth of the artists’ experimental approach and application of video and digital media, but also the various inspirations and experiences that inform their work, including the threats of climate change and the impact of human activity on the environment."
