Art lovers, rejoice! The Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden has just hit the refresh button on its collection in a big way, welcoming 175 new works from over 60 modern and contemporary artists.

This is in celebration of the Hirshhorn's 50th anniversary.

From hand-painted galleries to immersive spiderwebs you can literally play like an instrument, these new acquisitions push the boundaries of what art can be.

Among the biggest names joining the Hirshhorn’s collection are Laurie Anderson, Theaster Gates, Nancy Holt, Rashid Johnson, Mika Rottenberg, and Dread Scott. These are some of the most influential artists shaping today’s art world, and now their masterpieces will be right here in D.C. for all to see.
