McEwen Building Welcomes New Art Installation

Schulich School of Business
June 27, 2022

Members of the Schulich community are invited to visit a new art installation created by Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins and commissioned by the Schulich School of Business. Situated in the George and Katherine Svec Courtyard of the McEwen Building, the Busy Beaver sculpture provides an opportunity to directly engage in art as a respite from daily academic life.

“The dynamic composition of Busy Beaver, its vortices and lines of connection, complement the Schulich School of Business’ exciting architectural gestures and the hive of activity in its classrooms,” said Marman. “The sculpture brings people together at a nexus point of diligent construction and imaginative inspiration.”

Marman and Borins had previously collaborated on the Presence Metre in 2007, which is mounted on the third floor of the Seymour Schulich Building. With the addition new work, the art collection at the Rob and Cheryl McEwen Graduate Study & Research Building is now complete.
