This is the weekend for The Total Museum, An Interactive Multimedia Conference, which from 9 AM to 5:30 PM Friday and Saturday will present about 20 speakers who will discuss in Rubloff Auditorium of the Art Institute of Chicago the future of interactive media.
Complementing the free conference are a number of exhibitions and performances throughout the city, including one of recent work by Mary Lucier, at the Rhona Hoffman Gallery.
Lucier is a veteran installation artist who for more than 20 years has worked with video, so the exhibition gives viewers a chance to assess how a pioneering artist of new media has used the latest technology.
The show presents five pieces, four of which involve photographic prints made from Lucier’s video images of landscapes and the human body.
