Joe Fig: MFA Fine Arts presents a talk by the artist and alumnus

Joe Fig is an artist known for work that explores the creative process, the spaces where art is made and contemplated. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally with over thirty solo and fifty group exhibitions. He is the author of the acclaimed books Inside the Painter’s Studio and Inside the Artist’s Studio, which share an intimate view inside the studios of today’s leading artists. His work can be found in numerous museums and leading private collections including the Parrish Museum, Norton Museum, New Museum, and the Fogg Museum. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Boston GlobeArtforumArt in AmericaArtNews and Modern Painters as well as several international magazines. Joe is the department chair of both fine arts and visual studies at Ringling College of Art & Design. He earned his BFA and MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York. He is represented by Cristin Tierney Gallery in New York.

 

Talks is a series of lectures by artists, writers and critics presented by MFA Fine Arts. Talks are held on Tuesdays at 3:00pm at 133 West 21st Street in Room 101C and on Zoom. Participation in the Q&A is limited to MFA Fine Arts students attending the lecture in person.
